has William and Fanny
living in Blundeston
(Near the Church), Suffolk with Priscilla 2 and Jeremiah 3

moved to St Pancras about 1851. Their first child born after the

Marriage note: The minister entered 'Frances' on the register.
She was baptised Fanny but the minister
may have insisted on the usually accepted, formal version of her
name.
The first seven of their children were baptised at St. Michael's
and the first three died in infancy (which explains the repetition
of the names.) The youngest four were baptised at: The Independent
or Congregational Church of Beccles and are refered to as "Disenters"
in the documents.

Beccles
is a market town in Suffolk, within The Broads National Park.
It was granted its Charter in 1584 by Elizabeth I. The town
is shown on the milestone as 109 miles from London via the A145
Blythburgh and A12 road.
Once
a flourishing Saxon riverport, it lies in the Waveney valley
and is a popular boating centre. It is dominated by the detached
sixteenth-century bell tower (known as the Beccles bell tower)
of St. Michael's church. Like the main body of the church, the
tower is Perpendicular Gothic in style and is 97ft tall. The
interior of the church was badly damaged by fire in 1586. It
has a 13th century font.
The tower is also not attached to the church and at the wrong
end of the church as the correct end would be too close to a
large cliff |
